Alice Brek, 79, a resident of Swoyersville, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, Feb. 9, 2014, at Celtic Healthcare Hospice, Inpatient Unit, at Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre.

Her loving husband is Daniel G. Brek Sr. Together, Daniel and Alice celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary on July 2, 2013.

Born Nov. 14, 1934, in Swoyersville, Alice was the daughter of the late William Sincavage Sr. and Stella Dziekan Sincavage.

A homemaker most of her life, Alice tended to the daily needs of her home and family. In her later years, Alice greatly enjoyed working part-time at the former Roller King, Kingston.

Alice was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Parish, Swoyersville. Prior to its closure, Alice was a member of St. Mary of Czestochowa Church, Swoyersville.

A woman of many enjoyments, Alice especially enjoyed cooking for her family, playing bingo and taking weekly rides to Tunkhannock with her husband.

Family was the center of Alice's life and she cherished every moment she had with her loved ones. Though her presence will be deeply missed, her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, William and Stella Sincavage, Alice was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Sincavage, and her sister, Barbara Crake.

In addition to her husband, Daniel, Alice is survived by her son, Daniel G. Brek Jr., Swoyersville; her daughter, Alice Marie Kilduff, Swoyersville; her brothers, William Sincavage Jr. and Joseph Sincavage, both of Swoyersville; her uncle, Frank Jacien, Swoyersville; her brother-in-law, Albert Crake, Shavertown; and her nieces, nephews and friends.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Edward Carey and staff; the doctors, nurses and staff at Medical Oncology Associates; and the nurses and staff at Celtic Healthcare Hospice for the gentle and compassionate care they bestowed upon Alice and her family.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial, which will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, 116 Hughes St., Swoyersville, with the Rev. Anthony M. Urban officiating.

Interment will follow in St. Mary's Roman Catholic Cemetery, Swoyersville.
