Paul B. Sammon, 81, of Wyoming passed away Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, at Highland Manor Nursing Center, Exeter.

Born in Pittston on March 22, 1932, he was the son of the late William and Marie Grausam Sammon. He was a graduate of St. John's High School, Pittston.

Paul was a member of St. Monica Parish, West Wyoming. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

Prior to his retirement, he was employed in retail sales.

He was an avid sports fan, and supporter of Philadelphia Eagles for many years. Paul's passion was for his poetry and writing, he published many poems and wrote the monthly newsletter for the Midtown Apartment where he lived.

Although Paul's family was small, he had many friends and on occasion, met with his high school classmates for fellowship and conversation.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Marie Sammon.

He is survived by brother, William Sammon and wife, Judy, Clifton Heights; and one niece.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Monica Church, West Wyoming. The Rev. Leo McKernan will officiate.

Friends may call at Howell-Lussi Funeral Home, 509 Wyoming Ave., West Pittston, Thursday from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m.

Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
