Myrtle Edith Brown, 91, of Dallas passed away Sunday, March 9, 2014, at the Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Dallas.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Frances Rembus Lawrence. She was a graduate of James M. Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre, Class of 1940.

Myrtle was formerly employed as a secretary by King's College, Wilkes-Barre.

A former resident of Jackson Street, Wilkes-Barre, Myrtle had resided in Dallas since 1992.

She was a former member of First United Methodist Church, Wilkes-Barre.

Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her husband, C. Thomas Brown, and sister, Valerie Griffith.

Surviving are her sister, Clementine Moseman, Dallas; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday from Harold C. Snowdon Funeral Home Inc., 140 N. Main St., Shavertown. A private interment will be made in Fern Knoll Burial Park, Dallas. Friends may call from 2 p.m. until the time of service on Thursday at the funeral home.
