George W. Boston Jr. of Ashley passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at his home.

Born March 5, 1942, he was a son of the late George W. and Kathleen Esser Boston.
George attended G.A.R. High School, Wilkes-Barre.
He was employed as a welder by Air Products Inc., Hanover Township, and by the Iron Workers Union. George also worked for the Hanover Area School District as the crossing guard at Brown and Ashley streets, Ashley.
He was a member of American Legion Post 609, Lee Park, and the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 36, Wilkes-Barre.
Surviving are his wife, the former Ruth Ann McEvoy, with whom he would have been married 14 years on March 14, 2014; daughters, Carol and Kathleen Boston; stepchildren, Lisa Casey and her husband, Brian, Ashley; Lee Scott Churnetski, Ashley; and Lynn Ziller and her husband, Anthony, Bloomsburg; grandchildren, Ryan, Jamie, Kyle, Brandon and Chloe; great-grandson, Richard; and sisters, Carol Farrel and her husband, John, Yatesville; and Joan Scorey, Wilkes-Barre.
Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday from Jendrzejewski Funeral Home, 21 N. Meade St., Wilkes-Barre. Family and friends may call from 6 p.m. until the time of services on Thursday. Interment will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Wilkes-Barre.
