Johanna B. Troy, 82, of Montrose passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at Kindred Hospital Wyoming Valley, Wilkes-Barre.

Born April 25, 1931, in West Wyoming, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary Ptaszek Gashi. Her husband, Harold E. Troy, predeceased her in 1985.
She was known to the community as "the money lady," walking around town daily searching for loose change that she would later donate to local organizations. Johanna also volunteered for Meals on Wheels, working in the cafeteria at the Square where she resided. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting and knitting and volunteered many hours with My Brother's Keeper making quilts for the homeless.
Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Joann Conklin Riley and Pat Riley, Tunkhannock; and Rebecca Troy, Montrose; son, Gary Troy, Factoryville; grandchildren, Erika, Donald, Joseph, Jennifer, George, Jason and Matthew; numerous great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Agnes Gashi, Wyoming; nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Madalen Decker; grandson, Jonathan; great-grandchild, Kodie; and a brother, Joseph Gashi.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bartron-Myer Funeral Home Inc., Montrose.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services on Saturday at the funeral home.
