Stephen L. Kupetz, 72, of Kingston died Saturday, March 29, 2014, at Riverview Ridge, Wilkes-Barre.

He was born in Luzerne, son of the late William and Mary Mikluscak Kupetz. He was a graduate of Luzerne High School, and served in the U.S. Navy from 1961 to 1963. He was employed for many years by the U.S. Postal Service.

Steve was an avid crossword puzzle solver, always using ink when solving the New York Times puzzle. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose in Falls Church, Va., and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Anthracite Post 283, Kingston.

He is survived by his brother, James Kupetz, Pringle; and sister, Marie Hazlak, Swoyersville.

The funeral will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday from Kopicki Funeral Home, 263 Zerbey Ave., Kingston, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Ignatius Church. Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Ignatius St. Vincent de Paul Fund, 339 N. Maple Ave., Kingston, PA 18704.
