George Saxon of Trucksville passed away Sunday, April 20, 2014, in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

He was born in Swoyersville, son of the late George T. and Anna Saxon.
George was a member of St. Therese Parish, Shavertown.
Prior to retirement he was employed by the VA Medical Center.
George was a 20-year veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Dallas American Legion, where he loved spending time with his friends and playing the tambourine with many different bands.
George was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a member of the Blue Ridge Rod and Gun Club.
The pride and joy in George's life were his grandchildren, whom he loved spending time with.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Brunilda, in October 2012; and a sister, Judith Saxon.
Surviving are his children, Rhonda Adams and her husband, Pete, Wilkes-Barre; Francis, Pittston; and Georgine Meyers, Courtdale; eight grandchildren; and sisters, Geraldine Pizano, Wyoming; and Mary Ann Zekus, Dallas.
The funeral will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday from Lehman-Gregory Funeral Home Inc., 281 Chapel St., Swoyersville, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Therese Church, Shavertown.
Interment will be held in Mount Greenwood Cemetery, Shavertown.
Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
