Mary C. Faneck (Mania) of Wilkes-Barre passed peacefully Friday, April 25, 2014.

Mary was born in Kingston, on Oct. 4, 1925. She was the youngest child of Alexander and Rose Pieczynski. She was married to the late Edward Faneck, who died Jan. 17, 1988. She was a member of St. Therese Church of Wilkes-Barre.

Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She lived a life devoted to her faith and her family. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and going on cruises with her daughters. She enjoyed baking raisin bread, poppy seed and nut rolls for the holidays and cooking traditional Polish dishes for her family. Mary will be remembered for her kind and generous heart. She will be greatly missed by her family.

Mary was preceded in death by her sister, Hedwig Pieczynski, brothers, Benjamin, Chester, Zigmund and Edmund; and daughter, Bonnie Foist.

She is survived by her son, Robert and wife, Jeanne; her daughters, Nancy McCullogh and husband, Marty, Susan Maisano and husband, Fred; Doreen Conrad and husband, Terry; Maryanne Bratton and husband, Michael; 14 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph Marello Parish, Our Lady Of Mount Carmel Church in Pittston.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Association of the Blind.

The family would like to thank the staff of Wesley Village and Dr. Torbik for their care and compassion over the last eight years.
