Born in Buffalo, N.Y., on April 5, 1944, she was a daughter of the late Vincent and Margaret Mary Gaughan Quinn.

Margaret was a registered nurse, but spent most of her life devoting herself to her family. She was an avid quilter and owned Cranberry Quilters in Hamilton, Mass.

She spent many of her last years traveling the world. Margaret was living in West Haven, Conn., on the beaches of Long Island Sound but had lived in Houghton, Mich.; Salem, Mass.; and Saratoga, N.Y.

She was deeply loved and will be terribly missed by many.

She is survived by her husband, William J. McGarry, with whom she shared 48 years of marriage. They met in first grade at St. John's School, Pittston.

She also leaves behind three children: daughter, Erin McGarry-Sullivan and her husband, Stephen; son, Sean McGarry and fiancée, Teresa Traci; and daughter, Megan Gnidula and her husband, Thadeus.

She leaves behind her seven grandchildren, of which she was present at each of their births, William, Ann, Benjamin, Timothy, Martin, Andrew and Mary Margaret.

Also surviving are her sister, Mary Terese Russin and her husband, Robert, and many other sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and many dear friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. John the Evangelist Church, William Street, Pittston. Those attending the funeral are asked to go directly to the church on Tuesday.
