Arthur G. Parsons Sr., 73, of West Nanticoke passed away Friday evening, May 9, 2014, at Celtic HealthCare Hospice at Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre.

Born Feb. 28, 1941, in Salem Township, he was the son of the late Kenneth William Parsons and Violeta Robbins Parsons.
He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. He was married to the former Stella Meeker on Sept. 11, 1965. He had been employed by American Asphalt prior to retiring.
Arthur was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
Surviving are his wife, the former Stella Meeker; seven children, daughters, Judy Wunner and husband, Edward, Pringle; and Patricia Yuknavich, Nanticoke; sons, Matthew Parsons, Pringle; Mark Parsons, West Nanticoke; Arthur G. Parsons Jr. and wife, Kimberly, Hunlock Creek; Eugene Parsons and wife, Karen, Hanover Township; and Michael Parsons and wife, Melinda, Benton; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Floyd Parsons, Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Clarke Piatt Funeral Home Inc., 6 Sunset Lake Road, Hunlock Creek. A memorial service will be conducted at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Deacon Edward Frey, spiritual coordinator, Traditional Home Health and Hospice, officiating.
Private interment will be in the Bethel Hill Cemetery, Fairmount Township.
