Eleanor A. Verfin, 86, of Forty Fort passed away Friday, May 16, 2014, at her home with her family by her side.

Born in Edwardsville, she was the daughter of the late George and Anna Petras Malast.
Eleanor was a graduate of Larksville High School, and was a homemaker all of her life.
Eleanor was well known for her crafts, her skills as an artist, a painter and a seamstress. She was one of the Original American Collectors and loved to go fishing with her husband, Joseph.
She was preceded in death by her brother, George Malast, and her sister, Marie Zofcin.
Surviving are her husband of 34 years, Joseph Verfin, Forty Fort; children, Cindy Johnson and her husband, Bill, Leroy, Mich.; Leonard Jacobs and his companion, Sharon, Easley, S.C.; and Paul Jacobs and his companion, Mary, Inman, S.C.; six grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are by Corcoran Funeral Home Inc., 20 S. Main St., Plains Township.
