Dorothy Kwiatkowski

Dorothy Kwiatkowski, 82, of Park Towers, Nanticoke, and formerly of the Hanover section of Nanticoke, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at her home.

Born Aug. 14, 1931, in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late Chester Kwiatkowski and the late Anna Platko Kwiatkowski Kulawy. Dorothy had been employed by Faith Shoe Company, Wilkes-Barre, Eberhard Faber, Mountain Top, and last at A. Rifkin Co., Hanover Township, prior to retiring.

She was a member of Holy Transfiguration of Our Lord Ukrainian Catholic Church, Hanover section of Nanticoke, and American Legion Post 350, Ladies Auxiliary, Nanticoke.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her friend, Regina Torba; stepfather, Andrew Kulawy; and a sister, Sylvia Patrician.

Surviving are a sister, Betty Stepanski, Indian Lake, Buck Township; nieces, Dolores Caverly, Jackson Township; and Michele Reil and husband, James, Royce City, Texas; a nephew, John Stepanski, Bethlehem; and several great-nieces and nephews.

Divine Liturgy will be Friday at 10 a.m. in Holy Transfiguration of Our Lord Ukrainian Catholic Church, 240 Center St., Nanticoke, with the Rev. Volodymyr Popyk as celebrant.

Interment will follow in Holy Transfiguration Cemetery, Nanticoke.

Visitation for family and friends will be Friday after 9 a.m. at the church.

If desired, in lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions in Dorothy's memory may be made to the SPCA.
