Joseph (Spike) Gryziec, 81, of Plymouth passed into the loving arms of the Lord on Thursday, May 22, 2014.

Born Jan. 22, 1933, in Plymouth, he was the son of the late Thomas and Mary Ksiaskiewicz Gryziec.

He was a life member of All Saints Parish and a graduate of Plymouth High School, Class of 1951.

Joseph was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving during the Korean War.

He was employed as a Merchant Marine on the Great Lakes throughout his life.

He was a member of American Legion Shawnee Post 463, Plymouth, and the Polish Alliance Club.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Walter, Michael, Chester, Frank and Thomas Jr.

Surviving are his brothers, Edward F. Gryziec, Plymouth, with whom he resided; and John Gryziec and his wife, Mary, Plymouth; and nephews, John Jr. and Thomas Jr.

A private funeral will be held at the convenience of the family from S.J. Grontkowski Funeral Home, Plymouth. Interment will be in St. Mary's Nativity Cemetery, Plymouth Township.
