Michael J. Kowalski, 22, of Wilkes-Barre passed away peacefully with a smile on Friday, May 30, 2014, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.

He was born Dec. 26, 1991, in Wilkes-Barre, the son of William and Joanna Kowalski.

He was a 2011 graduate of Wyoming Area High School and was always inquisitive and funny. He loved watching documentaries and playing video games. Michael always cherished time with his family and friends.

Surviving are his parents, William and Joanna Kowalski, Wilkes-Barre; his dog, Jesse; grandparents, William and Linda Kowalski, Wilkes-Barre; and Marceli and Janina Nawrot, South River, N.J.; sister, Jackie (Russ) Lamonica; nieces, Isabella and Gemma Lamonica; many aunts, uncles and cousins who loved Michael unconditionally.

The funeral will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday from E. Blake Collins Funeral Home, 159 George Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Benedict's Church, Austin Avenue, Wilkes-Barre.

Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
