Anne M. Pisko Stajewski, 88, of the Parsons section of the city, entered into eternal life early Tuesday morning, June 3, 2014, in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Born May 4, 1926, in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Anna Pisko. Educated in city schools, she was a member of the 1944 graduating class of James M. Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre.
Mrs. Stajewski was a member of St. Andre Bessette Parish, having previously attended the former Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Church, North Wilkes-Barre.
She always placed her family as the focal point in her life, and is remembered by those who knew and loved her as being a loving devoted wife, mother, grandma and great-grandmother. She was also remembered as being an avid New York Yankees baseball fan.
Mrs. Stajewski assisted as a school crossing guard for the Wilkes-Barre Area School District for more than 40 years in the North End and Parsons sections of the city.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mr. John Stajewski, on Aug. 4, 2009; and by sisters, Ethel Baloga and Agnes Gerda.
Surviving are her children, Dianne Polak and her husband, John, Martinez, Ga.; Charles Stajewski and his wife, Ann Marie, Dallas; Theresa Mioduski and her husband, John, Edwardsville; and Maria Brilla and Steve Grzezdzinski, Wilkes-Barre; grandchildren, including Jaclyn Krogulski and her husband, Michael; Chuck Stajewski and his fiancée, Valerie Smock; Jennifer Mioduski and Michael Gyory, Sarah Mioduski; Michael Brilla and Erin Wiernusz and Melissa Brilla; great-grandchildren, Ainsley and Tyler Krogulski; a sister, Bernadine Burton, Floral Park, N.Y.; several nieces and nephews.
The family would also like to gratefully acknowledge the compassionate care shown their mother by her caregiver, Maia Sulakvelidze, and former personal aides, Sandy, Terry and Jen.
Funeral services for Mrs. Stajewski will be conducted at 9 a.m. Friday from the North Wilkes-Barre location of John V. Morris Family Funeral Homes Inc., 625 N. Main St., Wilkes-Barre, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. in the St. Stanislaus Kostka worship site of St. Andre Bessette Parish, 668 N. Main St., Wilkes-Barre. The Rev. Kenneth M. Seegar, pastor, will serve as celebrant.
Interment will follow in Ss. Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Cemetery, Cemetery Street, Plains Township.
Relatives and friends may join Mrs. Stajewski's family for visitation and remembrances from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday.
