Michael J. Sennick, 78, of Exeter passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2014, in ManorCare, Kingston.

Born in Pittston on Feb. 6, 1936, he was the son of the late Michael and Diana Parulis Sennick.

He was a former member of St. Casimir's Church, Pittston, and recently a member of St. John the Evangelist Church, Pittston.

Mike was a graduate of Exeter High School and Lackawanna Junior College. He served in the Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Exeter Lions Club and served as a former president of the organization. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Owens- Illinois and Times Printing.

Mike was an avid fisherman, hunter and gardener. He was loved by everyone who knew him.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Marcella Thomas, and his brother, Carl Kopines.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Helen Klocko Sennick; daughters, Joann and husband, Robert Yenalevitch, West Pittston; Susan Sennick, Southampton; and Michele and husband, Warren Van Name, Jackson, N.J.; grandchildren, Dinah and Tess Van Name; nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday from Kizis-Lokuta Funeral Home, 134 Church St., Pittston.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. by Monsignor John J. Bendik in St. John the Evangelist Church, William Street, Pittston.

Interment will be in St. Casimir's Cemetery.

The AMVETS of Greater Pittston will conduct a service the morning of the funeral.

Family and friends may visit at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Care and Concern Food Pantry, St. John the Evangelist Parish Community, 35 William St., Pittston, PA 18640.
