John Halchak, 94, of West Wyoming passed away Sunday, June 8, 2014, at Celtic Healthcare Hospice Inpatient Unit at Geisinger South, Wilkes-Barre.

He was born in Taylor and a graduate of Taylor High School.
John was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a longtime resident of West Wyoming who worked as a photo engraver at the former Barry Engraving, Wilkes-Barre, retiring in 1981. John is a member of St. Vladimir Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, Edwardsville.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Rose Juse and grandson, Brian Suter.
Surviving are daughters, Beverly Halchak, Wayne; Marie Suter and husband, Greg, Mechanicsburg; Christine Harrell and husband, William, Herndon, Va.; grandchildren, Phillip Suter, Andrew Harrell, Casey Harrell, Hannah Harrell; brother, Steve Haluschak, Duryea.
A Funeral Divine Liturgy service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Vladimir Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, 70 Zerby Ave., Edwardsville. The Rev. Paul Wolensky will officiate. Interment will be made in Denison Cemetery, Swoyersville. Friends may call Tuesday morning from 9 until 10 a.m. at Harold C. Snowdon Home for Funerals Inc., 420 Wyoming Ave., Kingston, PA 18704.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Vladimir's Mortgage Fund, 70 Zerby Avenue, Edwardsville, PA 18704.
