Carol Vensel Libeck, 74, of Huntersville, N.C., passed away Thursday, June 19, 2014, in Presbyterian Hospital, Charlotte, N.C.

Born Feb. 16, 1940, in Kittanning, she was a daughter of the late James and Florence Welch Vensel.
Mrs. Libeck was a 1958 graduate of New Kensington High School, a 1962 graduate of Mount Union College where she earned her bachelor's degree, a 1964 graduate of Duke Divinity School where she earned her master's degree in religious education and a 1973 graduate of Marywood University where she earned her M.S.L.S.
Mrs. Libeck was a retired Hanover Area Junior/Senior High School librarian in Wilkes-Barre, having 30 years of service. She was a past UMW President, Wilkes-Barre District.
Mrs. Libeck was active at DUMC where she participated in the Prayer Shawl Group, Companions in Christ, Founders Circle and Primetimers.
She was married for 34 years to Dr. Rudolph Libeck, who preceded her in death. He was an ordained Baptist minister and psychologist who served as pastor in two small Methodist churches.
Mrs. Libeck is survived by her sister, Susan Williams (Bill); niece, Jenie Gaillot (John); nephew, Russell Poe (Nealy); great-nieces and great-nephews, Jena, Riley, Jaden, Grayson and Jaisa.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on June 28 at Davidson United Methodist Church, Davidson, N.C.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Davidson United Methodist Church Building Fund, 233 S. Main St., Davidson, NC 28036.
