Ross J. Valenti passed away Monday, June 23, 2014, in Celtic Hospice, Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre. He was the husband of Judith Christ Valenti.

Born May 20, 1925, in Pittston, he was the son of the late Joseph Valenti and Mary Attardo Valenti. He was a graduate of Pittston Township High School and a graduate of Mid-Western Airline School.

He was a proud member of the Italian Civil Rights League, UNICO and he was also a past president of S.K.A.L. travel agency organization.

Ross was employed by TWA for more than 15 years. He was the proud owner of Central Ticket and Travel until 1993. He then went on to sell his business to Travel World. Ross continued to work for Travel World up until 2013.

He was a sergeant in the Army Air Force during World War II.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his sons, Ross Jr. and wife, Jennifer Valenti, Syracuse, N.Y.; and Joe and wife, Amy Valenti, Wilkes-Barre; granddaughter, Gianna Valenti; grandson, Grayson Valenti; and stepgrandsons, Carter and Holden Leonard.

He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by his sister, Petrina (Beatrice) Valenti.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ross's name to Celtic Hospice, 25 Church St., (Hospice Inpatient Unit at Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre) Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702, or Bear Creek Evangelical Lutheran Co-Ed Camp, 3601 Bear Creek Boulevard, Bear Creek Township, PA 18702.

Funeral services have been entrusted to Graziano Funeral Home Inc., Pittston Township.

Viewing hours will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Funeral services will begin at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday. Those who plan on attending should be at the funeral home by 9 a.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held from St. Maria Goretti Roman Catholic Church, Laflin, at 10 a.m. Wednesday. The St. Maria Goretti Bereavement Group will recite the rosary in the church at 9:30 a.m. prior to the Mass.

Interment will be private and held at the family's convenience.
