Frank P. Simone, 83, of Mountain Top passed away peacefully Sunday, June 22, 2014, in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Born July 30, 1930, in Mocanaqua, he was the son of the late Michael and Anna Racioppa Simone.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1947 until May 1949, and in the U.S. Air Force, where he served in the Korean War.
Frank was honorably discharged in 1953. In 1954 he married his wife, the late Ruby Kulp Simone, in St. Mary's Chruch, Mocanaqua, and shared a life together for 53 years.
Living in Pennsylvania all of his life, he attended Penn State University, receiving a degree in mechanical engineering, and Millersville University, receiving a degree in education.
He worked at Sanders and Thomas Corp. in Pottstown, Foster Wheeler in Wilkes-Barre and finished his career at the Greater Nanticoke Area School District as an industrial arts teacher. Frank also coached several sports before retiring in 1992.
Preceding him in death in addition to his parents and wife, Ruby, were his brothers, Louis, Ralph and Matthew "William" Simone, and sisters, Elizabeth Zimolzak, Mary Wilczynski and Angela Pizzirusso.
Surviving are his daughter, Debra and fiancé, Ron DeBalko, Mountain Top; granddaughter, Heather and husband, Peter Corby, Mountain Top; and brothers, the Rev. Michael, Maryknoll, N.Y.; and Joseph, Nanticoke. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
There will be no viewing or service. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family at St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.
