Albert John Orlando of Dupont passed away unexpectedly at home Thursday, June 26, 2014.

Born in Kingston on July 11, 1984, the son of the late Albert and Ann Marie Orlando, Albert was a 2002 graduate of Pittston Area High School. While at Pittston Area, Albert was a part of the Patriots wrestling team. He later went on to become a wrestling coach in the program.

Following high school, he completed the police academy and received his Act 120.

In 2005, Albert attained his bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Lackawanna College. Following graduation, he attained a specialty certification (Act 235) to become an armed security guard.

Albert was currently employed by Nature's Way, Pittston.

In addition to his parents, Al was preceded in death by his sister, Ann Marie Wilishefski, in May 2011.

Surviving are his wife, Tracey Tonkin Orlando; son, Christian Michael Orlando; stepson, Jonathan Armitage; brother, Thomas Wilishefski, Pittston; grandmother, "Baba" Dorothy Czyzewicz, Hanover; uncle, Thomas Cook, Mountain Top; aunt, Margaret Kern, Nanticoke; nephews, Mark Linker Jr., Thomas Wilishefski (Tom Boy) and Jonathan Wilishefski; best friend, Albert Remas, Pittston; father-in-law, Michael D. Tonkin; mother-in-law, Estelle Stevens; brothers-in-law, Joseph Stevens and Mikle David Tonkin; and sister-in-law, Monica Stevens. Also surviving are numerous cousins.

Al's family would like to send a special thanks to all of the friends and family who were there when they needed them the most.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Albert's family to help defray funeral expenses.

Funeral services have been entrusted to Graziano Funeral Home Inc., Pittston Township.

Viewing hours will be held at the funeral home from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday. A Blessing service will be held at the funeral home at 7 p.m. following calling hours. Interment services will be held at the family's convenience.
