Her loving husband is Marc Volack. Marc and Laura were united in marriage in 1997 in Wilkes-Barre and together shared 17 happy years.

Laura grew up in Washington State until the age of 16 when she and her family moved to Pennsylvania. Laura was a graduate of Tunkhannock Area High School, Class of 1980.

For several years, Laura was employed by Gerrity's Market, Luzerne, in their meat department and front end office. She most recently worked in the front end department of Price Chopper, Wilkes-Barre, for one year prior to her illness.

Laura was a member of Holy Family Roman Catholic Parish, Luzerne.

Every Christmas, she would spend weeks mixing, making and baking Christmas cookies and breads that she would give to her family and friends. Laura always made sure that her children received their favorite cookies every year!
