James J. Millham, 82, of Mountain Top died peacefully Monday, July 7, 2014, at Emeritus Personal Care Facility, Bloomsburg.

He was born April 28, 1932, in Wilkes-Barre, a son of the late James and Nellie Lavix Millham.

After graduating from James M. Coughlin High School, James joined the U.S. Army. He served as a forward observer in the Korean War.

After serving his country, he worked for Foster Wheeler Corp. as a x-ray technician until its closing. He went on to work and retired from King Fifth Wheel, Mountain Top.

Jim enjoyed many successful years playing softball in both Wilkes-Barre and Mountain Top leagues. He was especially known for his ability as an under-hand fast-pitcher. He was also an avid outdoorsman who cherished the time he spent hunting and fishing with family and friends.

He was a member of St. Jude's Church, Mountain Top; St. Jude's Holy Name Society; Mountain Top American Legion. Mountain Post 781; and St. Jude's and Foster Wheeler bowling leagues.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bernard Millham.

Surviving are his wife, Genevieve Millham, with whom he celebrated his 60th wedding anniversary on May 15; a son, Patrick Millham, wife Mary, Bloomsburg; grandson, Patrick, Pittsburgh; and granddaughter, Angela, Lansdale. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Jim will be greatly missed by family and friends.

The funeral will be held at 9:15 a.m. Thursday from Desiderio Funeral Home Inc., 436 S. Mountain Blvd., Mountain Top, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Jude's Roman Catholic Church Mountain Top, with private interment to follow in St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery, Wilkes-Barre Township. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

The family requests that floral arrangements be omitted. Flowers will be provided by the family. Anyone wishing to make memorial contributions may do so to the Columbia Montour Boy Scouts of America, 5 Audubon Court, Bloomsburg, PA 17815.

The family requests that all attending the Funeral Mass to assemble by 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the church.
