Dorothy G. Davenport, 89, of the Parsons section of Wilkes-Barre, passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at her home.

She was born March 10, 1925, in Wilkes-Barre, a daughter of the late Matthew and Theresa Hehn Himlin.
A graduate of St. Nicholas High School, Wilkes-Barre, she was employed for more than 30 years at Bishop Hoban High School.
Dorothy loved spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas J. Davenport; an infant son; brother, Donald Himlin; and brother-in-law, Bill Morton.
Surviving are her children, Barry Davenport and his wife, Cheryl, Hudson, Mass.; Kevin Davenport, Wilkes-Barre; Colleen Davenport, Wilkes-Barre; Colin Davenport and his wife, Sharon, Mountain Top; Thomas Davenport, Wilkes-Barre; James Davenport and his wife, Michelle, Wilkes-Barre; grandchildren, Ryan Davenport, Matthew Davenport and his wife, Juli, Amara Davenport, Caitlin Davenport, Jason Davenport and his wife, Donna, Dylan Davenport and Emma Davenport; great-grandchildren, Elan and Mila Davenport; sister, Theresa Morton, Pittsburgh; brother, Matthew Himlin and his wife, Ellyn, Plains Township; nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday from E. Blake Collins Funeral Home, 159 George Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Nicholas Church, South Washington Street, Wilkes-Barre. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday.
