Jean E. Dobson, 62, of Hanover Township, formerly of Nanticoke, passed into the arms of Heaven in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township, on Monday, July 7, 2014.

Jeannie was born April 16, 1952, in Nanticoke, to Isadora Alleman Prushinski and Chester Prushinski. Jeannie graduated from Nanticoke High School in 1970.

She was employed by the federal government and by the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Washington, D.C., for a year before returning home and working at the Luzerne County Courthouse in the data processing department, retiring in 1992 as the head verifier after 21 years of service. She then worked part-time with Temp Services as a payroll specialist.

Jeannie married Bill Dobson in 1995 and they enjoyed 19 years of fun and football. Bill and Jeannie attended Penn State football games for many years on the 50-yard line, and of course tailgating in the parking lot with friends.

She was a true wife, starting her husband's car and putting on the heater in the winter after clearing off the snow for her grateful husband. I love you baby-cakes, always and forever.

Jeannie is survived by her husband, Bill Dobson; her brother, Chester Prushinski and his family, Nanticoke; her aunt, Jane Alleman, and aunt, Olga Prushinski, Massachusetts; aunt, Dorothy Kolankiewicz, Dallas; and aunt, Phyllis Urban, Berwick. Also surviving are her stepchildren who loved her very much, Donna Fuller and her husband, Rob, Robbie and Sadie; and her stepgrandchildren. Also surviving is Alexander Dobson, her stepson, who would do anything for her and she for him.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday from Stanley S. Stegura Funeral Home Inc., 614 Hanover St., Nanticoke, with a Mass of Christian Burial at noon in the main site of St. Faustina's Parish, 520 S. Hanover St., Nanticoke.

Interment will be held in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Wilkes-Barre.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday.
