William M. Redicka, 70, of Dupont died Friday afternoon, July 11, 2014, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.

He was born in Pittston Hospital, Jenkins Township, son of the late Alphonse M. and Eleanor Hantz Redicka.

A life resident of Dupont he was a graduate of the Scranton Technical High School and attended the Scranton Lackawanna Business College.

He worked in the family business, Redicka's Pharmacy, Dupont, for many years, and was also a popular local drummer playing in several area bands including The Fugitives, Resurrection and The Eighth Street Bridge. He was also a drum teacher at the Eighth Street Music Store, Wyoming.

He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Dupont.

He is survived by a sister, Mary Ann Redicka, with whom he resided; uncle and aunt, Leonard and Rose Hantz Pliska, Rockville, Md.; and several cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday from Lokuta-Zawacki Funeral Home, 200 Wyoming Ave., Dupont with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. to be celebrated by the Rev. Joseph D. Verespy, pastor, in the St. John Paul II Chapel at the Sacred Heart Cemetery Lackawanna Avenue and Pine Street, Dupont. Interment will follow.

Friends may call Monday from 6 to 8 p.m.
