Florence Jones of Dodson Lane, Wilkes-Barre, passed away peacefully Monday, July 14, 2014, surrounded by her loving family in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.

Born June 12, 1928, in Wilkes-Barre, daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Urban, she attended GAR High School and was a member of the Rolling Mill Hill Women's Club.

She was active in Pennsylvania state vital records in Wilkes-Barre with her late husband, Elmer.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt will be deeply missed by all. Her family was always her pride and priority. Once you met Florence you were considered her friend. She loved music and polka dancing and also was a devoted Green Bay Packers fan.

She is survived by her children, John and his wife, Vivien Jones, Wallenpaupack; William and his wife, Rosina, Seattle, Wash.; Patrick, Wilkes-Barre; Della (Dolly) and her husband, Dave Davies, Wilkes-Barre; Arthur and his wife, Karen, Wilkes-Barre; Joseph, Wilkes-Barre; James and his wife, Sandy, Wilkes-Barre; Gerald and his wife, Shannon, Ashley; Ann Waltman, Wilkes-Barre; and Anthony and his wife, Sue, Forty Fort; daughter-in-law, Tricia Jones, Wilkes-Barre; 32 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer (Duke) Jones, in 1991; daughter, Judith Sapia; son, Thomas Jones; grandsons, Jacob Waltman and Joseph Jones; sisters, Nellie and Nettie; and brothers, Clem and Joseph.

The funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday from Mamary-Durkin Funeral Service, 59 Parrish St., Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Andrew's Church, Wilkes-Barre.

Interment will be held in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday.
