Julia Swartz, 88, of Wilkes Barre, passed into eternal rest Friday, July 18, 2014.

Born in Breslau, Hanover Township, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Antoinette Pakar Remchak.
Prior to her retirement in 1986, she was employed by American Tobacco. She was also very active as a volunteer at Mercy Hospital Hopsice over the years.
She was a member of St. Robert Bellarmine Parish, Wilkes-Barre.
Julia greatly enjoyed spending time with her family as well as traveling around the world.
She was preceded in death by her son, Chester J. Swartz; sister, Carol Wisniewski; brother, Raymond Remchak.
Surviving are her daughter, Sharon, Florida; son, Richard Swartz and his wife, Dolores, Saudia Arabia; grandchildren, Richard J. Swartz and his wife, Kacie; Robert Swartz; Frederick Karboski and his wife, Margaret; great-grandchildren, Sara Jane, Monica, Bridget, Claire, Paul, Maria, and Luke; siblings, Alexander Remchak, Irene Bender, Josephine Krochta and Rose Norczyk; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held 9 a.m. Tuesday from S.J.Grontkowski Funeral Home, 530 W. Main St., Plymouth, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Robert Bellarmine Parish, Wilkes Barre.
Interment will be in Hanover Green Cemetery, Hanover Township. Family and friends may call 5:30 to 8 p.m. Monday.
