Sarah, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, went home to be with her Blessed Lord and only Savior, on Sunday, July 20, 2014.

Sarah was born Sept. 24, 1923, the daughter of Evan Brinley and Hazel Thomas Bryant. Sarah attended Edwardsville, Kingston and Larksville schools. As a young woman she worked at Alta Products and later in life at Eberhard Faber and Frye Factory Outlet.

Sarah was a member of the First Welsh Baptist Church, now known as the Green Street Baptist Chapel, Edwardsville. She was a member of the Sunday school, choir, and the oldest member of the church. She was devoted to her Precious God and Savior.

Sarah was also a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 283, Kingston. She was also a secretary for her husband, Frank Zeske Sr., when he was post commander and steward, at Post 283 VFW. She was also a volunteer at the VA Medical Center, where she would sing to the patients and cheer them up with her smile. She hated giving up the volunteer work when she wasn't able to get around as well as she would like. She leaves many, many wonderful friends, among them the members of the 112th Seabees Reunions.

Sarah was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank Sr.; son-in-law, Larry J. McDavitt; her sisters, Charlotte Bryant, Lydia Witkosky, Margaret Baul and Hazel Celmar; and her brothers, Herbert and Evan Bryant Jr.

She will be sadly missed by her children, Sally McDavitt, Kingston, whom she lived with; Sandra and her husband, Robert Neyhard, Forty Fort; and Frank Jr. and his wife, Carole, Lake Placid, N.Y. She had 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and her beloved sister-in-law, Jane Zeske Bednar, Dallas.

Viewing will be held at the Green Street Baptist Chapel, 25 Green St., Edwardsville, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday. Services will be held at 7 p.m., with Pastor David Miklas officiating.

Entombment will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Chapel Lawn Memorial Park, Dallas.

In lieu of flowers, Sarah requested that donations please be made to Green Street Baptist Church.

Arrangements are entrusted to Edwards and Russin Funeral Home, Edwardsville.
