James R. Frew, 65, of Kingston passed away Saturday, July 19, 2014, at Celtic Hospice in Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre.

He was born in Binghamton, N.Y., on Aug. 18, 1948, a son of the late George and Catherine Walters Frew.
James was an Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam War.
Prior to his retirement, he had been employed by the Tobyhanna Army Depot.
James was a member of St. Nicholas Church, Wilkes-Barre. He was also a member of the North End Slovak Citizens Club, Wilkes-Barre, the Polish American Club and Italian Club, Hudson, and the Triangle Club, Miners Mills.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Betty Foster and Catherine Davies.
James is survived by his wife, June Williams Frew; daughter, Jennifer Zednik and her husband, Jason, Coopersburg; son, Vince Frew and his wife, Dawn, Plains Township; stepson, Raymond Bozek, Hanover Township; stepdaughter, Sandy Jackson and her husband, Edward, Wilkes-Barre; eight grandchildren; brothers, George Frew, New Mexico; John and Robert Frew, Binghamton, N.Y.; sisters, Mary Nixon and Ann Frew, Binghamton, N.Y.; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday from Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Ave., Wilkes-Barre. Deacon Francis Bradigan will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday.
