Lorraine R. McCormick, 81, of Plains Township passed away unexpectedly Saturday evening, July 26, 2014, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.

Born in the Hilldale section of Plains Township, she was the daughter of the late Geremiah and Lena (Grilli) Palmaioli.
Lorraine was a graduate of Plains Memorial High School, Class of 1950, and was self-employed as a hair stylist and was owner/operator of Lorraine's Beauty Salon, Plains Township.
She was a member of the Christian Apostolic Church, Plains Township, and was obedient in her love for the Lord.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Primo Palmaioli; and her brother-in-law, Thomas Alesson.
Surviving are her husband of 58 years, John J. McCormick, Plains Township; daughters, Erin McCormick, Zionsville; Kelli McCormick, Pringle; and her son, Shawn McCormick and his wife, Kathleen, Harding; grandchildren, Conor, Amanda and Sarah McCormick; sister, Jean Alesson, Plains Township; brother, Geremiah Palmaioli Jr. and his wife, Florence, Hilldale; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Lorraine will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Christian Apostolic Church, 757 N. Main St., Plains Township, with the Rev. David Fischi, pastor, officiating. Friends and family are asked to go directly to church Wednesday morning. Interment will be held in the Italian Independent Cemetery, West Wyoming.
