Jacob E. Corney Jr., 80, of Edwardsville passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2014, in the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Plains Township.

Born in Plymouth on Sept. 24, 1933, he was the son of the late Jacob E. Sr. and Anna Donavas Corney.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, serving from June 1953 to May 1955.
He was employed by the Dallas Area School District for 40 years, until his retirement.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Arlene Zibuck, and brother, Joseph Corney.
Surviving are his sisters, Vera Papula and Evelyn Bowen; numerous nieces and nephews and their families.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday from Andrew Strish Funeral Home, 11 Wilson St., Larksville.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Parish, Luzerne.
Interment with military honors will be held in St. Casimir's Cemetery, Muhlenberg.
Family and friends may call from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday.
