Mollie Shinal, 64, of Wilkes-Barre Township passed away Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2014, in Celtic Hospice at Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre.

Born June 10, 1950 in Mountain Top, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Theresa Gurgick Romanowski.
Mollie was a 1968 graduate of Crestwood High School and a graduate of Luzerne County Community College, where she received her associate degree in medical terminology. She was employed by Riverstreet Manor, Wilkes-Barre.
Mollie was a member of Our Lady of Hope Parish, Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Gene Shinal; her children, Ann Marie Shulde and her husband, Ralph, Wyoming; and Jeff Shinal and his wife, Angela, Wilkes-Barre Township; grandchildren, Meghan Shulde and Franklin Shinal, whom she adored and loved dearly; brother, Dion Romanowski and his wife, Judy, Nanticoke; her father-in-law, Bernard; several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and nieces and nephews.
Mollie's family would like to extend a special thank you and sincere appreciation to Dr. Gerald Maloney and the staff of Celtic Hospice and Dr. Jason Fritz and the staff at Penn Presbyterian Hospital in Philadelphia.

Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday from Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Hope Parish, 40 Park Ave., Wilkes-Barre. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday.
