Kimberly A. Rubasky, 51 of Nanticoke, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 16, 2014 under the care of Celtic Healthcare Hospice at Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre.

Born on December 31, 1962 in Nanticoke she was a daughter of Lloyd and RoseAnn Krupinski Briggs, Nanticoke.  Kim graduated from John S. Fine High School, class of 1980, received her Licensed Practical Nursing education from Wilkes-Barre Vocational School of Nursing in 1981 and her Registered Nursing training at Luzerne County Community College in 1990.

She married William Rubasky on July 16, 1988.

Early in her career, Kim had been employed at VA Medical Center and First Hospital Wyoming Valley as a LPN and later as a registered nurse and Director of Nursing at Summit Nursing Home, Wilkes-Barre, a nurse care manager with Kemper Insurance, in sales with Liposcience and in the Transitional Care Unit at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. She was last employed at Mountain City Nursing Home, Hazleton.  

She was a member of First Primitive Methodist Church, Nanticoke.

Kim will forever be remembered for being a strong woman whose presence was felt by all whom surrounded her. She was a spontaneous person who lived life to the fullest and captivated others with her wit. She will be deeply missed by her family as well as numerous close friends and their families.

Surviving, in addition to her parents are her husband, William; daughters, Ashlee Rubasky, Alden Station and Hannah Rubasky, at home; brothers, Bob Briggs and wife, Karen, and children, Taylor and Bobby, a brother Brent Briggs and wife Dr. Jacqueline Cain, and their daughter Morgan, a sister, Erika Stetz and husband Ryan, and their son Chase, mother-in-law, Kathleen Rubasky, all residing in Nanticoke; sister-in-law, Sylvia Nodes and husband, Al, and their children, Justin and Tyler, Hazleton.

A Memorial service to celebrate Kim's life will be held Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. at the First Primitive Methodist Church, 101 East Church Street, Nanticoke with the Rev. Kyle Gildner, her pastor, officiating.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Church.

The family would like to thank Dr. David Greenwald and the staff at the Medical Oncology office and Dr. Carlo De Luna and Dr. Norman Schulman for their assistance and compassion over the years. Also, a special thanks to Birchwood rehab and Celtic hospice for the care and comfort given to Kim.
