Elizabeth L. Kneeram, 82, of Duryea, passed away Monday in Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton.

Born in Duryea, she was the daughter of the late Vyvyan and Harriet Donley Lugg. She was a graduate of Wyoming Seminary and Hobart William Smith College. After graduation, Elizabeth relocated to New York City, where she was employed as a buyer for Mercantile Stores for 10 years. Elizabeth then returned home to Duryea and received her master's degree in Education from Marywood University. With her master's, in 1965, she secured a teaching position with Riverside School District, teaching elementary students until her retirement in 1992.
Upon retiring, she cherished time spent with her grandchildren, family and friends. She loved gardening, baking and traveling. She traveled to Texas, New Mexico, Florida and Connecticut often to visit with friends or family members.
Preceding her in death was a sister, Frances Ann Harrington and brother-in-law, Robert Harrington.
Surviving are her son Mark J. Kneeream and his wife Gina (Nardell), West Wyoming; grandchildren; Emily Rose and Maxwell Kneeream. Elizabeth is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m.Thursday in the Forty Fort United Methodist Church with Dr. Philip Wanck officiating.
