Stephen L. M. Furmanski, 63, of Forty Fort passed away unexpectedly in his home due to natural causes on Monday, Aug. 11, 2014.

He was born Jan. 21, 1951, in Swoyersville to the late Leonard and Theresa Furmanski.
Stephen was an avid guitar player and singer for more than 40 years. During that time he became a member of popular local band The Buoys, most famously known for their Billboard hit "Timothy," which was released in 1969. After leaving the band Stephen continued to perform at various parties and bars, including Bo Brothers where he was not only considered a friend but also a family member.
Stephen will be remembered best for his love of music, classic rock knowledge and his sense of humor.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Furmanski.
In addition to his wife, Donna Mazza, he is survived by his son, Stephen Furmanski and his fiancee, Casey Jayne; daughters, Sarah Furmanski; Amy Howell and her husband, Russell Howell; grandchildren Brandon, Caitlyn and Jacob Howell.
Family and friends are invited to a memorial service from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at Lehman and Gregory Funeral Home, 281 Chapel St., Swoyersville. A Memorial Mass will be held at 8 a.m. Saturday in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Hughes Street, Swoyersville.
