Hugh S. Lamberton, 92 of Dallas passed away Thursday, August 21, 2014, at The Meadows Nursing Center, Dallas.
Hugh was a loving husband to Nancy C. Lamberton; they just celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on Aug. 6.
Born in Philadelphia on March 27, 1922, he was the son of the late Philadelphia Mayor Robert E. Lamberton and Helen (Henderson) Lamberton. He was a resident of Monroe County for 40 years, prior to moving to Dallas in 2009.
In 1942 he enlisted in the American Field Service, where he drove an ambulance during World War II in Italy and other European countries. Upon return from his military service, he attended Drexel University, where he received his degree in civil engineering.
He and his wife, Nancy, were active in many organizations, including Habitat for Humanity, Meals on Wheels, AARP, and are members of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Dallas. He served as a Tobyhanna Township supervisor from 2004 to 2009.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Susan Briggs and Sally Robb; two sons, John and Mark Lamberton; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 474 Yalick Road, Dallas.
