Shaun Thomas Mehal

Shaun Thomas Mehal, 34, of Lancaster, was taken into eternal life Sunday, Feb. 5, 2017, at his residence.

Born Dec. 27, 1982 in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of Mary Jo Walsh Mehal, Exeter, and George Mehal Jr., Plains Township. He was a 2001 graduate of Coughlin High School, and attended Lackawanna community College in communications.

He was employed by Aspen Home Improvements, Lancaster.

He loved music and playing his guitar. He also loved spending time with his brother, Chantz, fishing, going to the movies, talking and sharing. He especially enjoyed dinner with his mother.

Shaun had a need to help others and was always there for his family and friends. He was very active in his community, helping those whatever their needs. He touched so many people.

He will be sadly missed by his mother, brother, father and the love of his life, Jenny Mercandetti, with whom he spent most of his time loving and enjoying life, and his roommate, Eddie Dunn. He always made it a point to visit his grandparents when he was home.

Preceding him in death were an infant son, Ethan James Cintron Mehal; maternal grandparents, Raymond and Rosemary Walsh; maternal great-grandparents, James and Mary Walsh, Pittston Township; paternal great-grandparents, George and Helen Mehal, Plains Township; Samuel and Virginia Butch, Plains Township; and recently deceased parental grandmother, Ethel Mehal.

Surviving, in addition to his parents, are his brother, Chantz Mehal, Exeter; paternal grandparents, George Mehal Sr., Plains Township; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Until we meet again. "There is a time where you return to the place you've started ... and actually know it for the first time."

A celebration of Shaun's life will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Slocum Apostolic Chapel, 1024 Exeter Ave., Exeter. Officiating at the services will be Shaun's uncle, Pastor Vincent O'Boyle, and Pastor Louis Smyth.

Arrangements are by Yeosock Funeral Home, Plains Township.
