Elaine G. Amdur, 82, of Kingston, died Sunday evening, Nov. 12, 2017, in the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Abraham and Sara Giltman and was a graduate of McCaskey High School, Lancaster, and Penn State University, where she earned her bachelor's degree.

Elaine was the administrator for MH/MR of Wyoming and Luzerne counties prior to retiring and enjoyed playing golf and gardening, and was a crossword puzzle wiz.

She was a member of Temple B'nai B'rith and its Sisterhood; Huntsville Golf Club; the former Valley Tennis and Swim Club; and other civic and religious organizations.

Elaine is survived by her loving husband, Larry Amdur; son, Lee (Carol) Krohn, Burlington, Vt.; daughter, Jeri Sue Krohn, Marshall, N.C.; son, Brett (Rachel) Amdur, Havertown; four grandchildren; and twin sister, Carol (Ronald) Rapaport, Lancaster.

The funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Rosenberg Funeral Chapel Inc., 348 S. River St., Wilkes-Barre, with Rabbi Roger Lerner officiating.

Interment will be in Temple B'nai B'rith Cemetery, Hanover Twp.

Shiva will be observed at 196 James St., Kingston, from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday; 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 p.m. Friday.
