Donald C. Johnson Sr. loving son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle and best friend, passed into Jesus' loving embrace on Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2017.

Born Oct. 4, 1939, in Wilkes-Barre, he was a son of the late Maurice and Agnes Dolan Johnson.

Don was a graduate of St. Mary's High School and owned and operated his own real estate management company.

A sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era, he was a proud patriot who loved his country.

Don loved traveling, meeting new people and experiencing new adventures. He will be remembered as a one of a kind family man and friend.

His wife, Jacqueline Howells Johnson; son, Donald C. Johnson Jr.; daughter, Melissa Colorusso and seven brothers and sisters, preceded him in death.

Don will be greatly missed by his daughters, Kathleen and her husband, Ed Mislitski, Nanticoke; and Kelly and her husband, Roman Aguirre, South Carolina; seven grandchildren; a great-grandson; sister, Lois Winsor, Wilkes-Barre; brothers, Ronald and Thomas Johnson, Wilkes-Barre; nieces, nephews, other family and friends, including his best friend and companion, Jean Decker, Wilkes-Barre.

A celebration of Don's life will begin with visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at McLaughlin's, 142 S. Washington St., Wilkes-Barre, and continue there on Saturday with gathering at 8:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. in the Church of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
