Walter H. Jacobs Sr., 86, died Monday, March 12, 2018, at Attleboro Nursing Home in Langhorne.

Born and raised in West Pittston, the son of the late Eleanor Tompkins and John Jacobs, he was a graduate of West Pittston High School.

Mr. Jacobs was an original homeowner in Levittown since 1955.

Until his retirement, Walt was a mechanic in the Mobile Shop at USX for more than 40 years.

Walt was a proud patriot and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the John F. Billington Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6495 and the Memorial Post 960 American Legion.

He was an avid Eagles and Phillies fan.

Mr. Jacobs was the beloved husband of the late Betty (Pritchard) and the loving father of Barbara Johnson (Timothy) and the late Walter H. Jacobs Jr. He will also be sadly missed by his three grandchildren, Amy Russo (Dan), Timothy Jr. (Nina) and Lisa Fisher (David), and his great-grandson, Connor.

He is also survived by his sister, Judy Jacobs, West Pittston; and his companion, Barbara Kendig.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Betty Simmons, Clara Roberts, Jack, Ned, Dick, Harry, William and infant brother George.

Family and friends are invited to call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday at James J. Dougherty Funeral Home Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, where his funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday. Interment will follow in Whitemarsh Memorial Park.
