Carl Spellacy Obituary
Carl was a loving husband and father, a devoted friend of many, an avid hunter and an excellent craftsman. Everyone who met Carl loved him and his love of life.
Carl is survived by his wife, Patti Gattuso, formerly of Wilkes-Barre; children, Christy, Sara, Shannon and Shawn; his favorite mother-in-law, Helen Gattuso; sisters-in-law, Christina and Mary Kaye Gattuso; brother-in-law, Jim Gattuso and his wife, Kristin; nieces and nephews, Scott, Alexis, Gabrielle, Tanner, Dalton and Mason Gattuso.
Friends may call at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 10103 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring, Md., on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Saturday at 11:30 a.m. Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church or the charity of the donor's choice.

Carl was never satisfied with a glass half full mentality. He worked hard to ensure the glass was completely full as a husband, father, son, brother, co-worker, and friend. We must take the energy, enthusiasm, charity, and dedication he shared with us and pay it forward to others. Patti, Christy, Sara, Shannon, and Shawn, you were the compass that guided Carl on his joyous journey. He enjoyed life to the fullest.

I may be the oldest to remember Carl when our agency changed names. When anything went wrong, I called Carl. I am retired now but HE will always be remembered. May your family always have wonderful memories as most of us will. As he WILL be missed.

Its been over 2 years since I have seen Carl but his upbeat & magnetic personality & smile are still fresh as the last day and will continue in my heart, Shaynah's and many others who he touched. Coaching the girls soccer team with him was a great pleasure and I feel lucky to have had that time. I hope the people he saved know what a great person he was and that they inherit that gift of his and allow his wonderful spirit to live on. Carl had to help me with computer problems on a couple of occasions and was always upbeat. I was in a retirement seminar with him earlier this year and enjoyed his sense of humor. I think he will be greatly missed by all who know him. My condolences to the family and sympathies to all who lost a friend.

Patti, please know that Carl was ALWAYS there for the regions, my users, and yours truly. His contagious enthusiasm, be it at work or play, and personal commitment are how I'll forever remember him. Carl was the heart and soul of ITF, certainly the part that I interact with on a daily basis. His untimely passing is an incalculable loss not only to you and the family, but also his legion of friends, colleagues, and OTS as well.
