Theresa Sulkowski, 91, of West Green Street, Nanticoke, passed away Tuesday evening, Oct. 23, 2012, at Little Flower Manor, Wilkes-Barre, where she had been a patient for two weeks.

Born on Feb. 8, 1921 in the same home she lived her entire life, she was a daughter of the late Anthony and Anna Terkowski Sulkowski. She graduated from Nanticoke High School, Class of 1939.

Prior to retiring, Theresa had been employed as a floorlady by the former General Cigar Company, Nanticoke, for 35 years as well as at its Mahanoy City factory for 12 years until its closing.

She was a member of St. Faustina Kowalska Parish (formerly Holy Trinity Church), Nanticoke, and a long standing member of the church's Women's Catholic Council.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Margaret Charnecki, Florence O'Donnell and Celia Augustine, and a brother, Walter Orlowski.

Surviving are nieces, Annette Charnecki, Colorado; Phyllis Zercoe, Georgia; and Marie Augustine, Nanticoke; a nephew, Leonard A. Charnecki, Nanticoke; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Theresa will best be remembered by family and friends as a woman of strong faith, a good and loyal friend and a person who truly loved to help the sick, the infirmed and those less fortunate than herself. Her family meant the world to her and she will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will begin Saturday, Oct. 27, at 9:30 a.m. from Davis-Dinelli Funeral Home, 170 E. Broad St., Nanticoke, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Faustina Kowalska Parish/Holy Trinity Church, 520 S. Hanover St., Nanticoke, with the Rev. Raymond Deviney as celebrant. Interment will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Sheatown, Newport Township. Visitation will be Friday, Oct. 26, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
