Sophia Bacho, formerly of Kingston, passed away Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at Mercy Center, Dallas.

She was born April 30, 1924, in Nanticoke, a daughter of the late Walter and Felicia Rutkoski.
After attending high school in Huntington Mills, she resided in New York City where she was employed as a receptionist by the Bulova Watch Co., and through the love of music met her husband, Michael. During World War II, she worked with radar systems as part of the war effort.
Sophia devoted her life to her husband, children and grandchildren. She also had a deep respect and commitment to her Catholic faith and to the Blessed Virgin Mary. Sophia and Michael were daily communicants at St. Ignatius Church, Kingston.
Surviving are her husband of 63 years, Michael A. Bacho; daughter, Jeanne Boos and her husband, Robert, Brackney; son, James Bacho and his wife, Mary Jo, Downingtown; and grandchildren, Christopher Boos, Laura Bacho and Thomas Bacho.
The family would like to thank Dr. John Carey, administration, and staff of Mercy Center for the many kindnesses and wonderful care given to Sophia. Also deepest thanks to Hospice of the Sacred Heart for their compassion in preparing her and the family for her final journey into God's hands. Additional gratitude is extended to Dr. Gerald Maloney, who entrusted Sophia into Mercy Center's loving care in her final years.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday in the Chapel at Mercy Center.
