Dorothy H. Barvinski of Oaklawn Avenue, Hanover Township, passed away Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, in the Hospice Community Care unit of Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre.

Born May 27, 1926, in Nanticoke, daughter of the late Theodore and Helen Olshefski, she attended Nanticoke schools.
She formerly worked in the garment industry; was a waitress at the Spinning Wheel, Hanover Township; was an assembler at Hy Art Factory, Hanover Township; and also worked at Hampton House, Hanover Township.
She was a member of St. Robert Bellarmine Parish.
Dorothy is survived by sons, Edward Barvinski, Lorton, Va.; and David and his wife, Carol Barvinski, Knoxville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward, in 1974; and sister, Josephine.
The funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Monday from Mamary-Durkin Funeral Service, 59 Parrish St., Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Aloysius Church, Wilkes-Barre. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday.
