Elda J. Oleson, 90, of Dallas passed away Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012, at Mercy Center, Dallas.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late John K. and Jean Davis Jenkins and was a graduate of Meyers High School and White Plains Hospital School of Nursing. She spent her career as a registered nurse and administrator with White Plains Hospital, White Plains, N.Y.
Elda was a member of Shavertown United Methodist Church and also the Daughters of the American Revolution of Tunkhannock. She was a volunteer for the Back Mountain Memorial Library, Association of the Blind and Girl Scouts of America.
Elda was preceded by her husband of 60 years, Stephen F. Oleson, in 2008; and a son, Stephen John Oleson.
Surviving are children, Catherine Scarlata and her husband, Frank, Long Branch, N.J.; Sara Macedo and her husband, Joseph, Bucyrus, Kan.; Barbara Zubko and her husband, Andrew, Dallas; and John W. Wallkill, New York; and grandchildren, Christy Hauser, Michael and David Macedo, Stephen and Alex Zubko.
The funeral will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Richard H. Disque Funeral Home Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas, with the Rev. Lynn Snyder, pastor, Shavertown United Methodist Church, officiating. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday. Interment will be in Fern Cliff Cemetery, Hartsdale, N.Y.
Memorial donations may be sent to the the SPCA of Luzerne County or Mercy Center, Dallas.
