Edward J. Pistack, 77, of Plains Township passed away early Sunday morning, Nov. 25, 2012, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township. His wife of 52 years is MaryAnn Wegrzynowicz Pistack.

Born July 19, 1935, son of the late Joseph and Josephine Pierog Pistack, he was educated in Plains Township and graduated in 1953.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958.

Edward was employed by the former Pennsylvania Gas and Water Co. and Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center from where he retired in 1992.

He was a member of St. Benedict's Roman Catholic Church, Wilkes-Barre.

He is also survived by a daughter, Carolyn Pistack Nebraski and husband, Jeffrey, Covington Township; a son, Joseph E. Pistack and wife, Marie, Plains Township; a sister, Dorothy Kegley, New Boston, Texas; five grandchildren, Nicholas and Alexander Nebraski, Thomas and Mary Jean Pistack and Nathan Swartz; nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Parish of St. Benedict at St. Dominic's Roman Catholic Church, 155 Austin Ave., Wilkes-Barre. Interment will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Bear Creek.

Relatives and friends will be received by his family at the church from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. A rosary service will be held at 6 p.m.

Arrangements are by Kielty-Moran Funeral Home Inc., 87 Washington Ave., Plymouth.
