John J. Kundla Jr. died Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, at Riverside Rehabilitation and Nursing Care Center, Taylor. He was preceded in death by his first wife, the former Agatha Kielich; and his second wife, Louise.

He was born in Dupont, and was the son of the late Joseph and Anna Gala Kundla. He was a graduate of Dupont High School and Phoenix School of Art in New York City. John served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. Before retirement, he was employed as a commercial artist by the Ruben Donnelly Co. He was a member of St. Michael's Byzantine Catholic Church in Pittston, and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Kundla Post, Dupont.

Surviving are his daughter, Stephanie Johnson, Taylor; two grandsons, Gregory and Kevin Johnson; a niece, Dolores Visniski, Dupont; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday from the Jacob Davis Funeral Home, 422 S. Main St., Taylor, with Divine Luturgy at 10 a.m. in St. Michael's Byzantine Catholic Church, 251 N. Main St., Pittston.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday. Parastas Service will be at 6 p.m. Interment will be at St. Michael's Parish Cemetery.
