Frances A. Salsavage, 81, of Newtown section of Hanover Township, died Friday morning, Jan. 18, 2013, in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Born in Plains Township, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna Madaya Suhena and was a member of St. Leo's/Holy Rosary Parish, Ashley. Frances enjoyed canning the tomatoes from her loving husband's garden and cooking dinners for her family.
Frances was preceded in death by sisters, Johanna Tarnalicki and Irene Roback.
She is survived by her loving husband, Edward Salsavage; son, Edward Salsavage, Ashley; daughters, Carol Holvey, Hanover Township; Sandra Pasternick, Hanover Township; Patricia Petty, Berwick; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 9 a.m. Monday from the Lehman Family Funeral Service Inc., 689 Hazle Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Leo's/Holy Rosary Parish, 33 Manhattan St., Ashley. The Rev. Thomas J. O'Malley will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
