Nicholas D. Carpenetti of Swoyersville passed away Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.
Born in Kingston on Sept. 14, 1995, he was the son of David Carpenetti, Swoyersville, and Anne Marie Carpenetti, Kingston.
Nicholas was a senior at Wyoming Valley West, and had in the past participated in a number of sports, including baseball and basketball, and also played for the Kingston Huskies football team for a number of years.
He had been a past member of Pack 339, Boy Scouts of America, at St. Ignatius Church for five years. He was also an avid Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies fan.
Nicholas was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Eugene Carpenetti and Ronald Temple, and uncle, Thomas Carpenetti.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister, Nina Carpenetti and her companion, Jason Barry, Wilkes-Barre; brother, Angelo Carpenetti, Swoyersville; niece, Alexia Barry, Wilkes-Barre; maternal grandmother, Margaret A. Temple, Edwardsville; and paternal grandmother, Lorraine Carpenetti, Nanticoke. He was also the nephew of Robert and Debbie Carpenetti, Dallas; Ron and Patty Temple, Swoyersville; and Vicki Temple, Plymouth; and had numerous cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Ignatius Church, North Maple Avenue, Kingston, with interment in the parish cemetery, Pringle.
Funeral arrangements are by Kopicki Funeral Home, 263 Zerby Ave., Kingston.
